2015 November Updates

Annual PCR Conference, April 7th-9th, 2016

Your Education Director, Charleen Deo, has been hard at work setting up a wonderful program. We have some great speakers returning such as Barbara Bates Jenson, Dorothy Daughty, Joyce Black, and Margaret Bobonovich.
Room reservations at the Resort at Squaw Creek are filling up quickly. The Resort has added additional rooms at the conference rate, so book now to reserve at the discounted rate! Conference Registration will be live soon and we will be sending out an email once it is ready to go. You will also be receiving a detailed brochure in the mail.

From WOCN we have two new items to review:

The WOCN has released a statement regarding the use of the WOCN mark. You can find the link to the position statement HERE

The WOCN has also released an updated description of the WOC nurse role and function:

Wound, ostomy and continence (WOC) nursing is a multifaceted, evidence based practice incorporating a unique body of knowledge to provide excellence in prevention, health maintenance, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitative nursing care to persons with select disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary and integument systems. This complex, interdependent specialty encompasses the care of all patient populations across the continuum of care while providing a pivotal role as educator, researcher and resource throughout the healthcare community. WOC nursing directs its efforts at improving the quality of life for individuals with wound, ostomy and continence concerns

Finally, we received some wonderful pictures and thank you notes from Youth Rally attendees.

The PCR donates every year and these letters give some insight into how much the funds make a different in these youth’s lives. Please take a look HERE

As always, I am open to any suggestions or comments regarding the emails you receive and the website. Please contact me with any questions, comments, or suggestions at pcrwocn@gmail.com
