To all PCR Members:
It is hard to believe that 2016 is coming to an end. Reflecting back on this year we have had a few challenges but many accomplishments. We held our annual conference at a beautiful venue in Tahoe. Our attendance numbers continue to increase as well as the number of vendors that support us at our conference. We had inspirational speakers that brought WOC nurses who are members of other regions as far away as New York and other Eastern states to our Regional Conference .
We received a $6000.00 donation from UOA LA the end of 2015 and were able to use that to fund all the RN’s going for their Ostomy Certification that applied for the scholarships by a motion from membership at our General Meeting at the 2016 PCR conference. This motion passed with 100% in favor. This is one way we support our mission.
This year our conference will be in Newport Beach, Ca. Our speaker list is stellar . We will also have a post conference on debridement. We look forward to seeing all of you there. There will be great information from our speakers, time to network, reunite with old friends. We will also be collecting extra ostomy supplies you bring to conference and ship to FOW USA. Please join us in the fun and educational offerings in Newport Beach.
I want to thank the PCR members that donated their time to man our booth at WOCN Society National Conference that was held Canada last June. We couldn’t do it without all your support. We did have a drawing and gave away 2 free conference fees. I hope to see the winners at the February 2017 Conference.
I also want to thank all that took the time to vote in our 2016 Election in September. We had the highest number of votes!!! It is important that we all vote. This is our Region and your vote counts. Many have told me that they don’t vote as they don’t know the candidate. It would be hard for all of us to know everyone. The candidates all do position statements. I am asking that you read those statements and place a vote in 2017.
It have been a pleasure to serve you as your President the last 2 years. I hope each of you will consider being part of your Region by serving on a committee, or onthe BOD. It is a wonderful experience.
